Newwit - Predict-to-Earn + SocialFi

Introduction

Newwit is the world's first Predict-to-Earn and SocialFi project dedicated to AI-powered future prediction.
Newwit brings GameFi, SocialFi and AI to everyone. Researchers have proven that some people have better foresight than others in each domain. In other words, the best predictors in each domain are different and decentralized.

Newwit is the first application to systematically collect and reward crowd wisdom.
We track and identify the best predictors and train our proprietary AI model to utilize crowd wisdom.

My Role

I led the design, user testing, finding solutions of this product from end to end. 

Problems

It was experiencing low user traction and engagement, resulting in low retention rates and limited user activity.
After conducting user research and analyzing user feedback, we identified the following key issues:

Lack of motivation
Users were not consistently motivated to engage with the platform or complete tasks.

Limited competition
The absence of competition among users reduced the excitement and sense of achievement.

User retention
Users were not returning to the platform regularly, indicating a need to improve stickiness and user loyalty.

Solutions 

To address the challenges identified, we proposed implementing gamification elements. Gamification is the application of game mechanics and elements in non-game contexts to drive user engagement and motivation. By incorporating gamification, we aimed to create a more interactive and rewarding experience for users.

Badges and Achievements
Users were rewarded with badges and achievements for completing certain milestones or demonstrating exceptional performance. These virtual rewards served as visual representations of their accomplishments and provided a sense of recognition and progression.

Process

Sketch
We sketched multiple user flows to visualize ideas quickly.We reviewed and discuss the sketches, extracting the most promising ideas to further refine and incorporate into the wireframing process. This encouraged diverse perspectives and unleash creativity within the team. Each team member produces quick sketches of wireframe ideas, exploring different layouts, interactions, and content placement. It allows us to generate a wide range of possibilities efficiently.

Wireframe

Start by creating a basic wireframe structure that represents the main sections and components.

Review the wireframes and gather feedback from stakeholders, including the development team and domain experts.

Consider the existing layout and navigation patterns to ensure consistency and familiarity for users.

Sketch out the key sections such as the leaderboard, user profiles, prediction submission interface,
domain expert profiles, and how users interact to each others.

Iterate on the wireframes based on the feedback, making necessary adjustments and refinements.

Ensure that the wireframes align with the overall user experience goals

Design Decisions

Conduct usability testing sessions with representative users to gather feedback on the wireframes.

Observe how users interact with the prototype and identify any usability issues or areas for improvement.

Make further iterations and refinements based on user feedback to optimize the wireframes for the best user experience.

Impact 

Following the launch of the gamification elements and domain expert integration, we monitored and evaluated their impact on user behavior and engagement. Key metrics, such as user activity, retention rates, and platform usage, were tracked. The results demonstrated a significant increase in traction and engagement:

Increased User Engagement:

  • Users demonstrated higher levels of engagement, actively participating in predictions and discussions.

  • The gamification elements, such as rewards and status indicators, motivated users to
    maintain good performance and strive for improvement.

  • The ability to seek advice directly from domain experts created a sense of community and encouraged
    users to actively engage with the platform.

    Enhanced Knowledge Sharing:

  • The integration of domain experts facilitated direct communication and collaboration between users and experts.

  • Users were able to seek advice, guidance, and insights from experts,
    fostering a rich and informative user experience.

  • The platform became a valuable resource for users, allowing them to tap into the expertise of industry professionals and expand their knowledge in specific domains.

    Increased Platform Traction:

  • The introduction of gamification elements and the integration of domain experts attracted new users to the platform.

  • Positive word-of-mouth and user recommendations contributed to an increase in user acquisition and platform adoption.

  • Existing users showed higher retention rates, returning to the platform regularly to engage with experts,
    participate in challenges, and improve their prediction accuracy.

    Improved User Satisfaction:

  • User feedback indicated a higher level of satisfaction with the Newwit.io platform after the implementation of
    gamification and domain expert integration.

  • Users appreciated the recognition and rewards they received for their contributions and the opportunity
    to learn from and interact with domain experts.

  • The overall user experience was enriched, resulting in increased user loyalty and advocacy.
